I started the month with some engaging live events! I hosted a writing workshop at Inkerry in Niwot, Colorado. Seven folks showed up to write and share. I really dig the vibes there. Owner very chill. Find my books there if you are local.

I hosted an event with Fort Collins Poet Laureate Erica Reid as part of my role as writer in Residence at NKollectiv in Englewood, Colorado. We had about ten folks join us to write inspired by art in the gallery and color, then share in an open mic. Here are some of the prompts we shared. 

What are two colors that represent juxtaposing parts of your life? 

What are two colors that represent complementary parts of your life? 

Choose four years/periods of your life and describe them as colors. 

Write a letter to a color. 

Write an ode to a color.

The rest of this month I am spending in NYC and I have a couple things planned there, like visiting the Brooklyn Book Festival! Email me if you are around.

I also started my role as an AWP mentor this month. I am excited for this new opportunity to support another woman author.

I am looking for a home for my first play. She is 10-30 minutes long and has a surrealist bend. Let me know if you have recommendations.

Asks: Can you connect with your local library and ask them to shelf Retired Wannabe Club Kid? I want to make this collection about divergency and rejecting labels more available.
